I was first elected in 1980 to represent the Bannockburn area. I have lived all my life in the Bannockburn area and felt I wanted to give something back to the community that had been so good for me while I was growing up. I feel privileged to have represented Bannockburn during this time, and also the Eastern villages since 2007.
During this time I have held most positions of responsibility within Stirling District Council and then, since 1996, Stirling Council. My main interests over the years have been housing, social services and equality issues. When I gave up teaching I became involved in Children’s Services which I also enjoyed.
My main interests are reading, computing and spending time with my family. I remain committed to doing the best I can for all the people I represent.
I am Convener of the Finance and Economy Committee. I also serve on a number of other committees.
